Eliza Popa is the founder, owner and managing director of Cyberstrat IT Consulting. A trailblazer in her field, she is known for pioneering innovative solutions in complex, high-stakes environments, backed by strong determination and a sharp strategic mindset.
Eliza’s journey in IT and Cybersecurity began in 1999, fueled by a deep interest in technology and a drive to make an impact. Over the years, she has held a wide range of roles—from Business and Functional Analyst to Manager of IT Processes, Security & Compliance within multinational end-client organizations, as well as Senior Security Consultant for prominent consulting firms.
Her passion for cybersecurity grew steadily throughout her career. During her time at a well-regarded consultancy, she led multiple teams, including those focused on Information Security Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC), and securing the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
This successful track record led to her being handpicked for a Senior Consultant role at a respected cybersecurity consultancy in the UAE. After gaining extensive experience with two firms and working closely with clients across Abu Dhabi, Eliza felt inspired to pursue her entrepreneurial vision. This led to the founding of Cyberstrat IT Consulting, where she now helps clients align internal practices with applicable standards and regulations, and strengthen their cybersecurity resilience through tailored, high-quality services and strategic guidance.
Eliza brings a strategic and results-driven approach to every engagement, consistently delivering exceptional consulting, auditing, and training services. Her professionalism, expertise, and ability to simplify complex challenges are widely recognized by both her clients and the organizations she is affiliated with.
Between 2016 and 2019, Eliza mentored and upskilled hundreds of professionals pursuing certifications such as CISA, CISM, CRISC, and CISSP.
In 2019, she became a PECB Certified Trainer for all the PECB courses for which she holds the credential.
In 2019, she became an ISC2 Official Training Instructor for CISSP, and in 2022 for the Certified in Cybersecurity (CC). She held these distinguished titles until 2026, making the ISC2 courses the first ones she retired from delivering.
By 2022, she expanded her credentials, becoming a CSA Authorized Trainer for CCSK Foundation and Plus (covering both AWS and Azure).
In 2024, Eliza achieved further recognition as an ISACA–APMG Accredited Trainer for CISA, CISM, and CRISC.
